There is a housing shortage in Berlin and other major German cities. The Greens and Red Socialists are once again screaming for dispossession. In my opinion, this is the completely wrong approach. Expropriation will not build a single apartment and will further deter potential investors. Away with the Climate Protection Act (KSG), Building Energy Act (GEG), energy certificate controls, Energy Saving Ordinance (EnEV 2014) and (EnEV from 2016) and what else there are bureaucratic obstacles. The bureaucratic madness has driven the construction costs for housing to unaffordable heights. It's only normal for rents to rise.
